About The Courier Guy

The Courier Guy is a South African courier that describes three ways to send and collect a parcel: door-to-door delivery, staffed kiosks, and parcel lockers. Its FAQ says you can track any of the three online with your waybill number, and that WhatsApp notifications go out at key stages of the journey.

How you get your parcel depends on which option the sender chose. With a locker, you scan a QR code or type a PIN at the machine, and anyone you share the PIN with can open it, so treat it like a key. Lockers in shopping centres follow the centre’s opening hours. With a kiosk, staff help with the parcel, and kiosks have set trading hours.

Kargo Radar reads the same tracking data as The Courier Guy’s portal. Events are in English and include short hub codes. When the carrier provides them, we also show the origin hub, destination hub, service level and an estimated delivery time. Treat that estimate as the carrier’s own figure. Collection addresses in the data aren’t displayed.

We’re a third party: The Courier Guy doesn’t own, operate or sponsor Kargo Radar.

What do The Courier Guy tracking numbers look like?

You’ll find the tracking number on the label, the shipping receipt or the shipping details the sender gave you. The examples below only show the format.

TCG number

Example format

TCG795220449T

TCG, 9 digits and a final T. Recognized automatically.

Product reference

Example format

DD-ABC123

Two letters, a dash and 6 characters. Choose The Courier Guy for these.

Short reference

Example format

AB12C

A short code of 5 or 6 characters. Choose The Courier Guy for these.

Enter the reference as it was given. The dash in a DD- reference can be left out, because Kargo Radar puts it back before searching.

Is the carrier detected automatically?

Only the TCG…T format is distinctive enough to be matched automatically. Short codes and product references could belong to anyone, so select The Courier Guy in other search boxes. On this page, the form is already pointing at The Courier Guy.

How to track The Courier Guy packages with Kargo Radar

See where your package is in a few steps, and hear about it when the status changes.

  1. 01

    Enter the number

Paste your tracking number into the form on this page. The form already has The Courier Guy selected and takes you straight to the results.

  2. 02

    Pick the carrier if needed

Some The Courier Guy numbers are recognized from their format. For the rest, choose The Courier Guy from the carrier list in the app or on the tracking page.

  3. 03

    Follow every event

Each scan is listed on a timeline with its date (and time, when the carrier provides one), and the overall status is summarized as one of six standard statuses.

  4. 04

    Get notified

Save the package to your list in the Kargo Radar app and you’ll get a notification on your phone when its status changes. Packages from other carriers sit in the same list.

What do the tracking statuses mean?

Kargo Radar turns each carrier’s own status wording into six standard statuses, so packages from different carriers read the same way. Each event keeps the carrier’s own description in the history, or an English rendering for carriers that only report in their local language.

Shipped
The carrier has registered the shipment or picked it up from the sender. It may not have left yet.
In transit
The package is moving between facilities, countries or customs.
Out for delivery
The package is out for delivery, or it’s waiting to be collected at a branch, post office or pickup point.
Delivered
The package was handed to the recipient or collected from the pickup point.
Delivery failed
A delivery was attempted but not completed. The carrier’s next step shows up in the event history.
Returned
The package is on its way back to the sender, or it has already been returned.

Good to know about The Courier Guy statuses

These are real event lines from The Courier Guy, with plain-English meanings:

Submitted
The shipment has been booked, but no one has picked it up yet.
Collection assigned
A driver has been given the pickup job.
At JNB hub
The parcel is at a hub, shown by a three-letter code. Lines with “Inbound” and “Outbound” show moves between hubs.
Delivery assigned
It has been allocated to a driver for delivery, but might not be on the road yet.
Recipient details entered and POD file(s) captured
Proof of delivery was recorded. This line normally means the parcel was handed over.
Nothing to collect
A pickup didn’t produce a parcel. Check with the sender. We flag this as a problem.
Order/Invoice Number Required
The shipment is missing a reference. The sender needs to supply it. We flag this as a problem too.

The Courier Guy customer support

For a parcel that hasn’t arrived, email or message The Courier Guy’s support team with your waybill number; the current details are on its Help Me page. Its FAQ also says you can take your tracking number to a kiosk and staff will help you file a claim. Its terms give 48 hours after delivery to lodge a written claim for non-locker shipments, so act quickly and check the current terms.

If a shop sent the parcel, the shop can also push the query along. We can’t reopen a locker, rebook a delivery or claim for you.

Frequently asked questions

Answers to common questions about The Courier Guy packages.

How do I track a Courier Guy parcel?

Type your waybill number or reference into this page’s form. You’ll get the hub-by-hub history and, if available, the service level and estimated delivery.

Where do I find my Courier Guy tracking number?

Look in the WhatsApp updates from The Courier Guy, or ask the sender. For a kiosk or Parcel Point drop-off, the sender gets a tracking number with the booking.

Does The Courier Guy status change here as soon as a driver moves?

No. Your search reads what the carrier has stored at that moment, and that only changes when a parcel is scanned or a driver records an update. A parcel that’s still on a truck between hubs shows the previous hub.

Why can’t my Courier Guy reference be found?

The carrier couldn’t match it to a shipment. Check for typing errors and the whole reference, including the DD- part. A booking made only moments ago may not be visible yet, and a shop’s invoice number won’t work here.

What happens if I don’t collect from a Courier Guy locker on time?

Follow the deadline in your notification, since The Courier Guy’s own pages don’t give one consistent window. Its terms say an uncollected parcel goes back to the nearest depot and redelivery fees apply, while its alerts page says it moves to a nearby kiosk. Contact support if you can’t make it.

Can someone else collect my Courier Guy locker parcel?

Yes, you can share your PIN with someone you trust. The Courier Guy points out that whoever holds the PIN can get the parcel, so don’t share it widely, and don’t post it anywhere.

Delivery says POD captured, but nothing came. What now?

That line means a driver recorded proof of delivery, so first ask anyone who could have received it. Then email The Courier Guy’s support team with your waybill number right away, as its terms set a short window for claims.
