About RAM Couriers
RAM Transport (Pty) Ltd, also known as RAM Hand-to-Hand Couriers, is a family-owned courier in South Africa that says it was founded in 1988. RAM says it delivers nationwide, handles over 100,000 deliveries a day and runs more than 40 local hubs and 2,000 vehicles. International parcels go through its partnership with DHL Express.
What sets RAM apart for many recipients is who it delivers for. RAM carries items for financial, cellular, IT, pharmaceutical and retail clients, including goods with legal identity checks. Under South Africa’s RICA and FICA rules, SIM cards and products such as credit cards are handed only to the named person, who has to show a valid South African ID or passport. RAM says the driver captures an image of the document.
Kargo Radar reads the public tracking that RAM offers without logging in. RAM has a separate, more detailed Advanced Online Tracking for its account holders, which we can’t see. Events are in English, with times in South African time. We leave out the name of the person who signed and any SMS, email or call logs.
RAM has no connection to Kargo Radar. We’re an independent tracking site and don’t act for the courier.
What do RAM Couriers tracking numbers look like?
You’ll find the tracking number on the label, the shipping receipt or the shipping details the sender gave you. The examples below only show the format.

What do the tracking statuses mean?
Kargo Radar turns each carrier’s own status wording into six standard statuses, so packages from different carriers read the same way. Each event keeps the carrier’s own description in the history, or an English rendering for carriers that only report in their local language.
- Shipped
- The carrier has registered the shipment or picked it up from the sender. It may not have left yet.
- In transit
- The package is moving between facilities, countries or customs.
- Out for delivery
- The package is out for delivery, or it’s waiting to be collected at a branch, post office or pickup point.
- Delivered
- The package was handed to the recipient or collected from the pickup point.
- Delivery failed
- A delivery was attempted but not completed. The carrier’s next step shows up in the event history.
- Returned
- The package is on its way back to the sender, or it has already been returned.
Good to know about RAM Couriers statuses
RAM uses some internal shorthand. Spelling below is as RAM writes it:
- Consigned
- The waybill was created at the sender’s site. We count this as received.
- Into container / Out of container
- The parcel was loaded into or unloaded from a transport container.
- Unsuccessfull delivery
- Delivery failed. The reason usually follows, such as an incorrect address on the waybill.
- RAMMobile Delivered
- The driver recorded the delivery on a handheld device.
- RAMMobile NonDelivery
- The driver recorded on a handheld device that delivery didn’t happen, with a reason.
- Pod captured
- POD is proof of delivery. These lines come after delivery and don’t mean the parcel moved again.
RAM Couriers customer support
After a missed attempt, RAM says it sends a WhatsApp, SMS or email notification that lets you request a reattempt, choose a new date, change the address or add instructions. If that doesn’t solve it, call RAM’s customer care on 0861 726 726 or use the contact form, which has options for delivery issues and complaints.
For a lost or damaged parcel, the sender is usually the one who holds the account, so ask them to take it up with RAM. Kargo Radar can’t reach drivers, change bookings or lodge a claim.

How do I track a RAM parcel?
Enter the waybill number in the form at the top. Depot moves, delivery attempts and the final delivery are listed with South African times.
Where do I find my RAM waybill number?
RAM puts it in the booking confirmation email and on the waybill attached to the parcel. If a bank, cellular network or shop is sending to you, ask them for it.
Does RAM tracking here update as the parcel moves?
It updates when RAM logs a new event, and your search picks up whatever is there at that time. Between two depots, or on a driver’s round, nothing new appears until the next scan.
Why does RAM say no tracking was found?
RAM replies “NO TRACKING FOUND” when it doesn’t recognize the number. Check whether the first character is a letter, since an O and a zero are easily confused. A waybill that was only just booked may also need time to appear.
RAM missed me. How do I get a new delivery?
Reply through the notification RAM sent after the attempt. RAM says you can ask for a reattempt, pick a new date or update the address, though a new address may take time to validate. Failing that, phone customer care.
What will I need to receive a SIM card or bank card from RAM?
Have your valid South African ID or passport ready, because these RICA and FICA items go only to the named recipient, face to face. A housemate can’t sign for them. RAM says if you’re unavailable, it schedules a reattempt automatically.
Delivered shows, but I don’t have my parcel. What should I do?
Ask others at the address and at reception first, because we don’t display who signed. Then contact RAM with your waybill number and use the delivery issue option on its contact form. The sender can also ask RAM to check the proof of delivery.
