When any of your packages, including DAO, is out for delivery, you’ll see it in the Dynamic Island, on your home screen widget and in your notifications. Your package keeps you posted before you even ask.

DAO, the company name being Dansk Avis Omdeling, is a Danish distribution company that began as a newspaper delivery round in 1921. It says it now delivers parcels, letters, magazines and newspapers across Denmark 365 days a year, often at night or early in the morning.
A DAO parcel usually ends one of two ways: at your home or at a daoSHOP pickup point. The company says it delivers to the kiosk, to the mailbox or right to the door. Which one you get depends on what the shop chose when it created the shipment, and that’s also why a parcel may land at a shop you didn’t expect.
Kargo Radar reads the same data as DAO’s Find din pakke page and requests the English event text. Home and shop legs of a delivery use separate event codes, and Kargo Radar reads them separately, so a parcel arriving at a depot isn’t mistaken for a delivered one. DAO doesn’t run or endorse Kargo Radar, which is an independent service.
You’ll find the tracking number on the label, the shipping receipt or the shipping details the sender gave you. The examples below only show the format.

The code DAO issues for a shipment without a printed label.
Copy the digits exactly as they appear in your SMS or email. DAO says valid parcel numbers have 9, 13 or 20 digits.
All DAO numbers are digits only, which makes them easy to confuse with other carriers’ numbers. Kargo Radar won’t detect them on its own, but this page’s form already has DAO selected.

Paste your tracking number into the form on this page. The form already has DAO selected and takes you straight to the results.
DAO numbers look like other carriers’ numbers, so Kargo Radar doesn’t guess. Choose DAO from the carrier list in the app or on the tracking page.
Each scan is listed on a timeline with its date (and time, when the carrier provides one), and the overall status is summarized as one of six standard statuses.
Save the package to your list in the Kargo Radar app and you’ll get a notification on your phone when its status changes. Packages from other carriers sit in the same list.
Kargo Radar turns each carrier’s own status wording into six standard statuses, so packages from different carriers read the same way. Each event keeps the carrier’s own description in the history, or an English rendering for carriers that only report in their local language.
DAO’s English event text, and one status from its Danish delivery code list:
If you’re at a daoSHOP and staff can’t find your parcel, DAO asks you to check Find din pakke and the shop address in your SMS or email first, then contact customer service with the parcel number, the shop you visited and when you were there. DAO also publishes a service status page, which is worth a look when many deliveries seem late.
Talk to the sender when the parcel went to the wrong shop or has been returned, because DAO says the sender picks the shop and can arrange resending. Kargo Radar has no access to DAO’s systems beyond tracking data and can’t file a complaint for you.
Answers to common questions about DAO packages.
Enter the parcel number or e-label in the form on this page. The result lists every scan with its time and depot, with the newest first. It’s free, and the Kargo Radar app can notify you when the status changes.
Look in the SMS or email about your delivery, in the shop’s order confirmation, or on the parcel label. DAO accepts 9-digit e-labels and parcel numbers of 13 digits starting with 7 or 20 digits starting with 00057.
Each time you look up the parcel, Kargo Radar asks DAO and shows the answer it gets back. If a courier hasn’t scanned the parcel yet, nothing new appears, even if it’s already on your doorstep.
Recheck the digits and their count. If they’re right, the sender may have created the label without handing the parcel to DAO yet. Give it some time, then ask the sender to confirm the number and the carrier.
DAO says parcels not collected within 7 calendar days go back to the sender. After that, you’d need to ask the sender about sending it again.
Check the mailbox, around your door and with neighbours, then contact DAO. Its delivery code list has a search status called Efterlyst for this case, and its terms say a search can take up to 10 working days. Complaints about missing parcels have to reach DAO within 3 months of the shipping date.
DAO says the sender chooses the shop when creating the shipment. Check the address in your SMS or email, since that’s where the parcel will be. If it’s a shop you can’t reach, the sender is the one to speak to.
