About Estafeta

Estafeta is a Mexican courier and parcel company with a delivery network across Mexico. It was founded in 1979.

Estafeta was founded on 8 August 1979 and says it was the first company to offer door-to-door courier and parcel services in Mexico. In more than 20 Mexican cities, its optional services let you reschedule a delivery: pick a new address in the same city and a day from Monday to Sunday, have the shipment sent to an Estafeta branch, dealer or partner in the same city, or ask for evening delivery between 6 and 10 p.m. on weekdays.

Each shipment has a 22-character waybill number (número de guía) and a shorter 10-digit tracking code (código de rastreo). Both work on this page.

What do Estafeta tracking numbers look like?

You’ll find the tracking number on the label, the shipping receipt or the shipping details the sender gave you. The examples below only show the format.

Waybill number (número de guía)

Example format

1234567890ABC123456789

22 characters, printed at the top of the waybill. Estafeta calls it the 22-digit number, but it can contain letters.

Tracking code (código de rastreo)

Example format

1234567890

A 10-digit number. Estafeta’s search can return more than one shipment for the same code.

If a 10-digit code matches several shipments, Kargo Radar shows the most recent one. Use the 22-character waybill number for an exact match.

Is the carrier detected automatically?

Waybill numbers that contain letters are recognized as Estafeta. The 10-digit code and all-digit waybills look like other carriers’ numbers, so choose Estafeta for those; the form on this page already has it selected.

How to track Estafeta packages with Kargo Radar

See where your package is in a few steps, and hear about it when the status changes.

  1. 01

    Enter the number

Paste your tracking number into the form on this page. The form already has Estafeta selected and takes you straight to the results.

  2. 02

    Pick the carrier if needed

Some Estafeta numbers are recognized from their format. For the rest, choose Estafeta from the carrier list in the app or on the tracking page.

  3. 03

    Follow every event

Each scan is listed on a timeline with its date (and time, when the carrier provides one), and the overall status is summarized as one of six standard statuses.

  4. 04

    Get notified

Save the package to your list in the Kargo Radar app and you’ll get a notification on your phone when its status changes. Packages from other carriers sit in the same list.

What do the tracking statuses mean?

Kargo Radar turns each carrier’s own status wording into six standard statuses, so packages from different carriers read the same way. Each event keeps the carrier’s own description in the history, or an English rendering for carriers that only report in their local language.

Shipped
The carrier has registered the shipment or picked it up from the sender. It may not have left yet.
In transit
The package is moving between facilities, countries or customs.
Out for delivery
The package is out for delivery, or it’s waiting to be collected at a branch, post office or pickup point.
Delivered
The package was handed to the recipient or collected from the pickup point.
Delivery failed
A delivery was attempted but not completed. The carrier’s next step shows up in the event history.
Returned
The package is on its way back to the sender, or it has already been returned.

Good to know about Estafeta statuses

Estafeta publishes its tracking events in Spanish only. Kargo Radar keeps the original wording in the event history and shows the overall status in English. Terms you may see:

Recibido por Estafeta
Estafeta has received the shipment. Kargo Radar shows Shipped.
En tránsito
The shipment is moving between Estafeta facilities, so the status is In transit.
En proceso de entrega a domicilio
The shipment is out for delivery to the address.
Entregado
The shipment was delivered.

Estafeta customer support

For a problem with a shipment, open it in Estafeta’s online tracking and generate a report (“Generar”). You can check on that report by WhatsApp at 55 5270 8300. If a package arrives damaged or opened, take photos, check the contents and report it within 2 business days.

Compensation (indemnización) has to be requested by the sender, with the content invoice and proof of shipment. Estafeta’s support pages are in Spanish. Kargo Radar translates only the status, and it can’t generate a report or request compensation for you.

Frequently asked questions

Answers to common questions about Estafeta packages.

How do I track an Estafeta shipment?

Paste your waybill number or tracking code into the form on this page. Kargo Radar looks it up with Estafeta and lists each event with its date, time and place.

Why are the Estafeta events in Spanish?

Estafeta’s tracking shows its events in Spanish only. Kargo Radar keeps the original text and shows the overall status in English, using the six standard statuses explained on this page.

Why can’t Kargo Radar find my Estafeta number?

A new shipment may not have been scanned yet, and Kargo Radar reports a waybill with no events as not found. Check the number against your receipt or the shop’s shipping email.

What happens if I’m not home when Estafeta delivers?

Estafeta says it makes a second delivery attempt on the next business day, following the delivery days for your postal code. If that also fails, you can file a report in Estafeta’s online tracking and have the shipment sent to the Estafeta branch of your choice for pickup, which Estafeta calls the Ocurre service.

Can I track an Estafeta shipment by the sender’s name?

No. Estafeta says its system needs the waybill number or the 10-digit tracking code. If a number shows no information, Estafeta names a wrong code, a shipment not yet handed to Estafeta or one not yet registered as possible reasons, and suggests trying again later.

Is Estafeta tracking free?

Yes. Tracking on Kargo Radar is free and doesn’t require an account. Save the package in the app to get a notification when its status changes.
