About City Express

City Express is a Serbian parcel company founded in Belgrade in 2002. It says it has been part of Austrian Post’s Parcels & Logistics division since November 2007. It offers door-to-door delivery in Serbia, along with cross-border and outsourcing services.

Delivery runs through a network of local delivery centers, and City Express has a locator on its site that shows the delivery days for your city or ZIP code. That’s handy when you’re trying to work out why a parcel loaded in one town hasn’t moved. Its fee calculator also covers cash on delivery.

Kargo Radar uses the English tracing page on the City Express site, so events appear in English with the center’s name and Belgrade time. City Express can also trace by a shipment reference, but this page works with shipment numbers only. City Express has no connection to Kargo Radar and doesn’t answer for what you see here.

What do City Express tracking numbers look like?

You’ll find the tracking number on the label, the shipping receipt or the shipping details the sender gave you. The examples below only show the format.

Full shipment number

Example format

68800110293847

14 digits: a center code of 688 001, 688 002 or 688 005, then 8 digits.

Single parcel in a shipment

Example format

6880011029384701

16 digits: the shipment number plus 2 digits for the parcel. Kargo Radar looks up the whole shipment.

Short number

Example format

10293847

Just the 8 digits. Kargo Radar tries all three center codes for you.

Spaces don’t matter. Copying “688 001 10293847” from a label works.

Is the carrier detected automatically?

All of these formats are plain digits, so a number won’t be recognized as City Express automatically. Choosing the carrier is the extra step; the form here starts with City Express selected.

How to track City Express packages with Kargo Radar

See where your package is in a few steps, and hear about it when the status changes.

  1. 01

    Enter the number

Paste your tracking number into the form on this page. The form already has City Express selected and takes you straight to the results.

  2. 02

    Pick the carrier

City Express numbers look like other carriers’ numbers, so Kargo Radar doesn’t guess. Choose City Express from the carrier list in the app or on the tracking page.

  3. 03

    Follow every event

Each scan is listed on a timeline with its date (and time, when the carrier provides one), and the overall status is summarized as one of six standard statuses.

  4. 04

    Get notified

Save the package to your list in the Kargo Radar app and you’ll get a notification on your phone when its status changes. Packages from other carriers sit in the same list.

What do the tracking statuses mean?

Kargo Radar turns each carrier’s own status wording into six standard statuses, so packages from different carriers read the same way. Each event keeps the carrier’s own description in the history, or an English rendering for carriers that only report in their local language.

Shipped
The carrier has registered the shipment or picked it up from the sender. It may not have left yet.
In transit
The package is moving between facilities, countries or customs.
Out for delivery
The package is out for delivery, or it’s waiting to be collected at a branch, post office or pickup point.
Delivered
The package was handed to the recipient or collected from the pickup point.
Delivery failed
A delivery was attempted but not completed. The carrier’s next step shows up in the event history.
Returned
The package is on its way back to the sender, or it has already been returned.

Good to know about City Express statuses

City Express’s tracing page uses these English terms:

Initialization
The shipment has been entered in the system, usually by the sender. It may not have been collected yet.
Pickup in progress
A driver is due to collect it from the sender.
Loaded for Delivery
It’s on a delivery vehicle from the named center.
Deposit in Parcel Terminal
It’s been placed in a parcel terminal for you to collect. Kargo Radar shows this as out for delivery.
Delivered
The parcel was handed over.

City Express customer support

The City Express contact page lists a head office and a Call Center, which is free from a landline in Serbia, plus an email address. The Call Center’s listed hours are Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 15:00. Have your shipment number ready, and ask about redelivery or a missing parcel there. The site doesn’t publish a separate complaint process.

Buyers should raise refunds and wrong items with the shop that sold them. Kargo Radar only displays tracing data and has no way to reach a driver.

Frequently asked questions

Answers to common questions about City Express packages.

How do I track a City Express shipment?

Type the number from your label or SMS into the form. Short 8-digit numbers are fine. You’ll get the route so far, with the delivery center and time of each scan.

Where do I find my City Express number?

It’s on the shipping label, usually beginning 688 001, 688 002 or 688 005. Shops often include it in their dispatch message. If you only have an order number, ask the shop for the shipment number.

Is City Express tracking here live?

It’s a direct question to City Express each time you press track, so it can’t get ahead of their records. Between scans at centers in different towns, the parcel simply looks as if it’s standing still.

What does “does not exist or does not have a status yet” mean?

That’s City Express’s message for a number with no scans. The shipment may only just have been booked, or a digit may be wrong. If your number has 8 digits, try the full 14 from the label.

Why does my parcel show “Loaded for Delivery” but nobody came?

That scan means it left on a van, and it stays on the record until a later one replaces it. Delivery hours are limited, and City Express lists delivery days by location on its site. If no new event appears by the next working day, call the Call Center.

Can I see several parcels from one shipment?

A shipment can have several parcels, each with its own 16-digit number. Kargo Radar looks up the shipment as a whole and shows all its events in one list, so it can’t single out one parcel. Check with City Express if one part is missing.
