SMSA Express is a courier and express delivery company headquartered in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It handles domestic and international express shipments, and SMSA says its network connects 230 countries.
SMSA has been in business since 1994. Besides express parcels, its services include road, sea and air freight, customs clearance and e-commerce solutions. SMSA says a dedicated customs clearance department clears incoming shipments arriving by air, road or sea. Senders can ship through an SMSA account, with the SMSA Express app or by dropping a parcel at an SMSA service center. SMSA also offers cash on delivery, collecting the payment from the buyer for the seller.
SMSA’s tracking shows a shipment in four steps: picked up, in transit, out for delivery and delivered. Kargo Radar turns those steps into its standard statuses, so all your packages read the same way.
You’ll find the tracking number on the label, the shipping receipt or the shipping details the sender gave you. The examples below only show the format.

Some Turkish carriers use 12-digit numbers too, so SMSA Express isn’t detected automatically. In the app, choose SMSA Express from the carrier list; the form on this page already has it selected.

SMSA Express numbers look like other carriers’ numbers, so Kargo Radar doesn’t guess. Choose SMSA Express from the carrier list in the app or on the tracking page.
Each scan is listed on a timeline with its date (and time, when the carrier provides one), and the overall status is summarized as one of six standard statuses.
Save the package to your list in the Kargo Radar app and you’ll get a notification on your phone when its status changes. Packages from other carriers sit in the same list.
Kargo Radar turns each carrier’s own status wording into six standard statuses, so packages from different carriers read the same way. Each event keeps the carrier’s own description in the history, or an English rendering for carriers that only report in their local language.
SMSA’s compensation policy counts both senders and recipients as clients, so either can complain. Use the contact options on SMSA’s website, and keep the reference number you get for your complaint.
The Complaints and Compensation Policy gives 30 days from delivery, or from the announced delivery date, for lost, damaged or late shipments. SMSA’s documents don’t all give the same limit for damage, so report it right away and keep the packaging. Kargo Radar isn’t part of SMSA and can’t take a complaint or a claim.
Answers to common questions about SMSA Express packages.
Paste your AWB number into the form on this page. Kargo Radar looks it up in SMSA Express’s tracking system and shows the current step and every event.
AWB stands for air waybill; an AWB number is the number of the shipment’s transport document. SMSA’s website calls it the tracking number, and the sender usually shares it along with the shipping details.
SMSA numbers are digits only, and 12-digit numbers are also used by some Turkish carriers. To avoid guessing wrong, Kargo Radar asks you to pick SMSA Express.
SMSA says it texts the recipient when a shipment arrives at an SMSA service center, so it can be collected during the center’s working hours. The package is kept for 5 business days from its arrival before it goes back to the sender, though this can vary by service type or the sender’s agreement with SMSA. In an emergency, someone else can collect it for you if they bring the AWB number; SMSA checks and records their ID.
Under SMSA’s terms, the courier makes a first delivery attempt. If the recipient doesn’t respond, SMSA may try again on its own or at the customer’s request, and if delivery still fails, SMSA may take the shipment to the service center nearest the recipient or return it to the sender. The sender or recipient can also ask for a later delivery time, delivery to a neighbor or leaving the shipment at a chosen place.
