Korea Post is South Korea’s national postal service. It delivers mail and parcels within Korea and sends EMS and registered items abroad through the international postal network.
Korea Post was founded in 1884 as a government institution and says it runs 3,300 post offices nationwide. EMS items can weigh up to 30 kg, though some countries, such as Argentina and Bangladesh, set a limit under 20 kg. Korea Post labels EMS documents with a barcode starting with EE and a CN 22 customs form, and EMS merchandise with a barcode starting with EM and a CN 23 form. EMS Premium is a separate service run with UPS, which handles delivery on part of the route, for items up to 70 kg.
Kargo Radar checks Korea Post’s international (English) tracking service, so it works best for international numbers ending in KR.
You’ll find the tracking number on the label, the shipping receipt or the shipping details the sender gave you. The examples below only show the format.

See where your package is in a few steps, and hear about it when the status changes.
Paste your tracking number into the form on this page. The form already has Korea Post selected and takes you straight to the results.
Paste the number into the search box on the home page or into the Kargo Radar app, and the carrier is recognized from the number’s format.
Each scan is listed on a timeline with its date (and time, when the carrier provides one), and the overall status is summarized as one of six standard statuses.
Save the package to your list in the Kargo Radar app and you’ll get a notification on your phone when its status changes. Packages from other carriers sit in the same list.
Kargo Radar turns each carrier’s own status wording into six standard statuses, so packages from different carriers read the same way. Each event keeps the carrier’s own description in the history, or an English rendering for carriers that only report in their local language.
Common Korea Post event descriptions and what they mean:
Korea Post has an online inquiry form for items that are not delivered, delayed, damaged or missing contents. It tells you to check the destination country’s postal site first. Your inquiry must reach Korea Post within four months for EMS, six for K-Packet and 30 days with Guarantee Service, counted from the day after posting.
By phone, Korea Post lists (+82) 1588 1300 for EMS. EMS Premium has a separate contact. Kargo Radar can look up the number, but sending that form is up to you.

EMS (Express Mail Service) is the express international mail service that postal operators provide under agreements with each other. EMS numbers usually start with E. Whether destination scans appear depends on the destination country.
It’s the country code of the postal operator that issued the number, in this case Korea Post. The format follows the UPU S10 standard that postal services use worldwide.
Korea Post says EMS documents that don’t need customs formalities at the destination take 1–2 days to neighboring destinations such as Tokyo, Hong Kong and Singapore, and 2–5 days to other countries, if they’re accepted in the morning at a post office in Seoul. Merchandise can take longer: Korea Post’s expected delivery days don’t include weekends, holidays or the time an item spends in customs.
Korea Post says its EMS tracking network connects with 59 countries, including the U.S., Japan, the U.K. and Hong Kong, for real-time tracking of EMS items sent there. For other destinations, scans in the destination country may not show up in Korea Post’s record after “Delivered to Destination Post.” The UPU S10 number is meant for use between postal operators, so the destination post can usually identify the item by the same number.
