Bulgarian Posts (Български пощи) is the postal company of Bulgaria. It says it sends letters and parcels to more than 230 countries and territories, and to all 5,257 cities and villages in the country. Its post offices also handle bill payments, money transfers and e-vignettes.
Customs is the step that most often catches people out. Goods arriving from outside the EU go through a customs procedure, and Bulgarian Posts can prepare the declarations and collect the charges. It says items that clear this way are handed over at the designated post office and aren’t taken to your address.
Kargo Radar checks the Bulgarian Posts tracking service. International scans appear in English under standard postal event names, while domestic ones stay in Bulgarian, so one history can mix both. Times follow the country of the office that made the scan. Shipments the system marks as Bulpost aren’t readable here. Kargo Radar is privately run and not part of Bulgarian Posts.
You’ll find the tracking number on the label, the shipping receipt or the shipping details the sender gave you. The examples below only show the format.

The same pattern, ending in the code of the sending country. These can be looked up here too.
The last two letters show which post sent the item, not where it’s going.
Numbers ending in BG are detected automatically. An item coming from abroad ends in another country’s code, so select Bulgarian Posts for it yourself; this page’s form is already set that way.
See where your package is in a few steps, and hear about it when the status changes.
Paste your tracking number into the form on this page. The form already has Bulgarian Posts selected and takes you straight to the results.
Paste the number into the search box on the home page or into the Kargo Radar app, and the carrier is recognized from the number’s format.
Each scan is listed on a timeline with its date (and time, when the carrier provides one), and the overall status is summarized as one of six standard statuses.
Save the package to your list in the Kargo Radar app and you’ll get a notification on your phone when its status changes. Packages from other carriers sit in the same list.
Kargo Radar turns each carrier’s own status wording into six standard statuses, so packages from different carriers read the same way. Each event keeps the carrier’s own description in the history, or an English rendering for carriers that only report in their local language.
Domestic scans are written in Bulgarian. International ones use English terms such as “Receive item at office of exchange (Inb)”. The Bulgarian wording you’re most likely to see:
Bulgarian Posts has one client line for general questions and a separate line for EMS and Bulpost, both on its contacts page. For a customs question, its customs page lists the offices that offer the service and the papers you need, such as a declaration of consent and proof of the order and payment.
If an item you mailed is lost, start at the post office that accepted it. Kargo Radar can’t speak to customs, pay charges or change the delivery office for you.
Answers to common questions about Bulgarian Posts packages.
Paste the 13-character number into the form. You’ll see each office that handled it, in order, with the local time of the scan and the Bulgarian Posts wording.
A sender has it on the post office receipt. If you’re the recipient, ask the seller or sender, or look in the shipping email from the shop. The number usually starts with two letters and ends with two.
It’s as fresh as the last scan. Kargo Radar queries Bulgarian Posts when you look up, but a bag sitting between two offices stays silent until someone records it again.
An empty result usually means the item hasn’t been entered yet. For a parcel from abroad, it may not have reached Bulgaria, so check with the sender’s post too. Also recheck the letters, as the number must match exactly.
The item is in Bulgaria and waiting for customs. Bulgarian Posts’ customs page explains which documents you may need and what’s payable. Items that clear are held at the designated post office for 45 calendar days under the rules from 1 July 2026, then go back to the sender.
Bulgarian Posts sends those to a separate Bulpost view, and we can’t read it. Use the Bulgarian Posts site for that shipment, or call the EMS and Bulpost line listed on its contacts page.
A delivery was tried and didn’t work out. Inb means inbound, an item arriving in the country. Check with your post office, which can tell you what happens next.
