CTT (Correios de Portugal) is Portugal’s national postal service. It delivers letters and parcels in Portugal and sends international items through the postal network.
CTT – Correios de Portugal, S.A. has held the concession for Portugal’s universal postal service since 2000, and its current contract runs until December 31, 2028. On CTT’s tracking page, “Awaiting entry at CTT” means CTT has the item’s details but the sender is still preparing it, and “Accepted” means the item has entered CTT’s network. Senders usually share the code, and it can also appear in CTT’s text messages, emails or delivery slips.
For items sent abroad, the CTT record often continues with events from the destination country, such as customs and delivery.
You’ll find the tracking number on the label, the shipping receipt or the shipping details the sender gave you. The examples below only show the format.
Example format

Numbers ending in PT are recognized automatically and looked up with CTT, so you can paste them into any Kargo Radar search box.
See where your package is in a few steps, and hear about it when the status changes.
Paste your tracking number into the form on this page. The form already has CTT selected and takes you straight to the results.
Paste the number into the search box on the home page or into the Kargo Radar app, and the carrier is recognized from the number’s format.
Each scan is listed on a timeline with its date (and time, when the carrier provides one), and the overall status is summarized as one of six standard statuses.
Save the package to your list in the Kargo Radar app and you’ll get a notification on your phone when its status changes. Packages from other carriers sit in the same list.
Kargo Radar turns each carrier’s own status wording into six standard statuses, so packages from different carriers read the same way. Each event keeps the carrier’s own description in the history, or an English rendering for carriers that only report in their local language.
CTT publishes its tracking events in Portuguese only. Kargo Radar keeps the original wording in the event history and shows the overall status in English. Terms you may see:
Individuals can call CTT on 21 047 16 16, where a virtual assistant can check a shipment or change a delivery. On weekdays you can ask to be transferred to a specialist. CTT also has a contact form and WhatsApp.
Complaints go through the form, the phone line or a CTT store or service point. The limit is 1 year after CTT accepted a domestic item and 6 months for an international one. CTT’s domestic parcel terms pay compensation to the sender. Kargo Radar can’t open a CTT complaint or redirect an item.
Answers to common questions about CTT packages.
Paste your CTT tracking number into the form on this page. Kargo Radar looks it up with CTT and lists each event with its date, time and place.
CTT publishes its tracking events in Portuguese only. Kargo Radar uses CTT’s own status codes to show each event’s status in English.
Events appear when the item is scanned. Once an item leaves Portugal, CTT depends on the transit and destination countries for updates, and some send them late or not at all, so long gaps are possible. If CTT can’t find the number at all, check it against your receipt; some CTT services have no tracking.
A CTT code has two letters, nine digits and two more letters, for example RR123456789PT. CTT says the first two letters show the type of service and the last two the country the item was sent from, so items posted in Portugal end in PT.
CTT says codes starting with D are Expresso deliveries. For these, CTT lets you change the delivery address, including to a CTT store or point, pick another date within five business days, change the time window, extend pickup at a CTT location by five days, ask for redelivery or change the receiver’s name. Kargo Radar shows the tracking but can’t change the delivery.
CTT says numeric codes with 22 digits are used only for shipments that come from Spain. Kargo Radar’s CTT tracking is built for codes ending in PT, so a 22-digit code may not be found here.
